As predicted, January has been a busy month - I chose Binding Cascadia as a very realistic goal, and it is time to link my finish with A lovely Year of Finishes. The pink stripe is machine finished, and the green ends are hand-finished, after carefully wrapping around the pink and securing with teeny stitches!
I chose a breezy day for photographing..
We are enjoying an unusually rainy day in Vegas today, and since I have no crib or cutesy backdrop, I'm quite happy to share these pics! Since the photo session, it has been rolled up for storage, to eliminate the fold creases. These will do, though I had thought better photos would be snapped for Friday Linkups:

I owe a big THANK YOU to Kathy who informed me yesterday that my blogger settings had changed, requiring CAPTCHA to any friendly folks who tried to leave a comment here! The same thing had happened to her, and she encouraged those using the Blogger platform to check their sites, as well as informing us how to resolve it - without headaches! Thank you Kathy, you provide such Kwilty Pleasure and I love following you!
What a lovey finish! Love your quilting!
ReplyDeleteI love the pastels. And the quilting. Do you use a walking foot or do free motion? I like designs like yours but my FMQ straight lines are not straight, and there is a lot of turning with a walking foot.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you chose to finish your Cascadia. Nice to see more colors and layouts. Great Quilting.
ReplyDeleteHI Heidi....2 questions....one...how do you fix the CAPTCHA thing? and 2....wow oh wow, those straight lines quilting are fabulous! Makes the quilt have such dimension! How'd you deal with all the thread ends when changing direction so much? That is something I am learning to deal with now so I can do more designing in the FMQ'ing department! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI really like how you have the pink stripes on the sides and green on the top/bottom for the binding. (and, hmmm.... I'll have to see about that CAPTCHA thing - wondered why so many folks were suddenly using it)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful rendition of Cascdia! Love your colors, your center row design and your amazing quilting. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteLovely finish! The quilting is beautiful and the colours are so pretty. Thanks for linking to TGIFF!
ReplyDeleteI love the green background, beautiful design and colors. Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteVery nice. I love how the quilting makes this quilt look much more intricate.
ReplyDeleteYeah to you for the finish. It is adorable.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! The striped binding is perfect!
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt and I love the quilting on it! I still need to learn how to make the straight stitch quilting, yours look perfect.
ReplyDeleteI love your version of Cascdia. The alternate setting for the center and your colors are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI am still working on mine. Hopefully I can finish it this weekend. Cathy in Kansas
